The Liu Sha (六煞) sector in 8 mansions feng shui describes an energy source that brings bad luck with scandals and betrayals when afflicted.
The Chinese words 六 means six and 煞 means kill. Which is why the English term used to label this energy is innately known as 6 killings (6K).
By comparison, the strength of Liu Sha is average against the strong Wu Gui and weak Huo Hai.
Despite it’s fearsome name, the liu sha energy little relation to kills and deaths. This is because the word 煞 in this context is used to relate to negative and harmful Qi.
In terms of life aspects, it brings about vice-related activities like womanizing, infidelity, sex scandals, deception, etc.
It is linked to the water element and the academic star (文曲星). This might seem puzzling to learners as academics can seem totally unrelated to the negative aspects 6 killings is associated with.

The 6K sector of a house can also be determined by changing the first and third yao line of the trigram that represents the house in question.
For example, a Qian house would have the trigram ☰. When we change the top and bottom yao lines, we obtain the Kan trigram ☵ of the north. So the 6K sector of a Qian house would reside at the north.
In some circles, liu sha is also loosely referred to as the peach blossom sector. However, this can be misleading as that is the name of another form of energy in feng shui and bazi.
But the reason for this is that the nature of energy of both liu sha and peah blossoms brings about influences in life that are very similar.
Which is also why 6 killings can sometimes be deemed as a desirable area of the house (even though it’s generally categorized as inauspicious) for those who are single or working in jobs that require persuasion skills.
